MS NEW YORK SENIOR AMERICA 2014,
JANE RUBENSTEIN

Ms. New York, Virginia Werner CONGRATULATIONS to JANE RUBENSTEIN, MS. NEW YORK Senior America 2014! And Special Thanks to Marleen Schuss New York State Administrator, and State Coordinator Bob Geltman, and to the New York Cameo Club for another successful pageant and year.

Jane Rubinstein is 62 yrs. old, and has lived and worked in N.Y.S. her entire life. Her passionate career consisted of teaching Art and Industrial Arts, grades K-12, with concentration in High School Art. She retired from teaching in 2008. Jane has devoted her time and art to charity all of her life, volunteering for various organizations and causes in her community. Her hometown eagerly looks forward to Jane painting store fronts at holiday time, in all weather, to raise money for the Jason Gruen Foundation (children with sudden death heart disease).

Jane also supports the 911 Fund, local theaters, schools, and hospitals with her art work . She wants her talent to be relevant, and to be used to help others. Her interests includes painting, horse-back riding, travel, piano playing, making props, and painting scenery for theater, and also attending the theater. Her most recent passion and triumph has been learning to ballroom dance. She wanted to be a dancer when she was little and she never got the chance to study. She began at the age of 56, after her children were grown and she no longer worked full time. She has participated in several dance competitions, and has won top honors. Jane Rubinstein has also been honored by both her town and her county with two awards for her charity work and her passion for giving back to her community: the "Pathfinder" award and the "Making a Difference" award. Gratitude is the driving force behind all that she does. She is a proud mother of two boys, and a wife of 31 yrs. Being crowned Ms. N.Y. Senior America was one of her biggest honors, and it is her privilege to represent and promote the value, talent, and grace of women over 60 - truly the "Age of Elegance".
